Jason Oakley
Jason Oakley is a seasoned financial services leader with nearly 40 years of experience in banking and investment. His career spans launching, scaling, and steering successful businesses across diverse markets, always with a focus on innovation, agility, and purpose-driven growth.
As CEO of Afin Bank, Jason leads a dynamic and diverse team united by a shared mission to redefine value in financial services. Under his leadership, Afin Bank is progressing towards full regulatory approval, with a clear vision to create a more inclusive and forward-thinking financial future.
Throughout his career, Jason has been passionate about building high-performing teams and creating the right conditions for people and ideas to thrive. He combines strategic vision with entrepreneurial drive, helping businesses navigate change and unlock new opportunities. Jason holds an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School and a Fintech Disruption Certificate from Cambridge Judge Business School, among other professional finance qualifications. He remains committed to fostering trust, innovation, and impact at every stage of the customer and colleague journey.

Throughout his career, Alan has played a pivotal role in developing value-driven financial propositions, optimising sales and distribution channels, and expanding access to lending solutions. With a strong track record of growing loan portfolios, building high-performing teams, and executing commercial strategies that align business goals with customer success, he remains committed to driving sustainable growth and delivering meaningful financial solutions.
James Briggs
James Briggs has over two decades of experience in the specialist mortgage market, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise. As Afin Bank’s Intermediary Sales Director James has a strong focus on collaborating with brokers and distribution partners, he is dedicated to identifying criteria gaps and developing competitive solutions tailored to the intermediary community and their clients.
A proud ally to communities often underserved by traditional banks, James is passionate about helping these clients achieve their property ownership goals.
Helen Walsh
Helen brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services, with a strong background in marketing, customer acquisition, and commercial growth. She has experience in mortgage marketing, applying her skills to develop strategies that connect with customers and drive engagement.

Tippie is a seasoned financial services professional with over 15 years of experience spanning the UK and Africa, with a focus on specialist lending, wealth management, and high-net-worth banking. He brings a wealth of expertise in working with brokers, financial advisers, and direct clients to deliver tailored lending and financial planning solutions.
A passionate advocate for inclusive finance, Tippie has been recognised as one of the Top 100 African Business Professionals in the UK by the Africa Business Chamber (2024), and was named UK Young Banker of the Year by the Chartered Bankers Institute (2020) for his award-winning proposal focused on supporting individuals living with life-changing conditions.
